For those of you who don’t know me, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this and take a second to introduce myself. My name is Ronnie Merrill. I am a graduate of Jesuit High School and the University of Tampa. I am currently in my 2^nd year as a professional baseball scout for the San Francisco Giants, scouting central and north Florida. Prior to scouting, I completed a 9 year baseball playing career with the Detroit Tigers, Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres, Oakland A’s, Arizona Diamondback and Tampa Bay Rays organizations. Since I graduated college, I have been very fortunate to be in baseball, as a player and a scout. Baseball is both my job and my passion.

For the last 5 years, I have been doing local private lessons during my off-seasons.  I have worked numerous camps put on by other people and have run 5 of my own. My camps combine a great understanding of baseball, as well as fun, using the knowledge I have gained through my playing and scouting experiences, with what I have learned from ex Major League players and coaches.  Realizing that kids all learn differently, individual instruction plays a key role.

Camp will include instruction in:

Hitting/Bunting

Pitching/Throwing

Fielding (Infield, Outfield and Catching)

Base running

Situations

Sliding (Slip and Slide)- Bathing suite optional and days will be announced for sliding practice on the slip and slide ahead of time

* Snacks and plenty of water will be provided. Feel free to send any other food and drink if you would like. Pizza will be provided on the last day of each camp session.

I take pride in the staff I put together for my camps, hiring other professional scouts, college coaches and college players. Since I can not be with every player the whole time, my qualified staff will provide proper instruction when the kids are in their groups. This year, each camper will receive a Nike Dry Fit Tee Shirt and will have the opportunity to win Nike batting gloves, bat bags and fielding gloves, for various awards that will be given out at the end of camp.
